Our House [Before + After Renovation][House Tour][C&E Collective]

This post has been a long time coming. Like, a really long time.  Today marks the 1st anniversary of officially getting the keys to our first home, so I thought what better time than the present to finally show her off! After purchasing the home, we took on a little bit of a renovation (mainly painting EVERYTHING white, taking down a wall, adding some doors where they weren’t there, taking away some doors and replacing some things in the bathroom).  We were able to complete the majority of the reno within a month of purchasing, thanks to a really a helpful brother, a contractor uncle, a Dad who doesn’t hate to paint and some family that was willing to take us in while sawdust seemed to be falling from the sky. So without further ado, I present to you our house!

That’s it, that’s all!

Okay, no, not really.  There is an office that I’ve chosen not to share because it’s a disaster 24/7 and not totally finished (pictures aren’t hung, bookshelf that I need to redo) so that will be coming another time 🙂

I hope you enjoyed our little home tour! If you have any questions or comments don’t forget to leave them in the comment section below!

Our 3rd Anniversary [Paris, Ontario][Paris Ontario Anniversary][C&E Collective]

Good morning + happy Tuesday! Something different + a little more personal on the blog today.  Scott + I celebrated our 3rd anniversary in July by going back to the park where we were married to have a picnic.  Because what is marriage for if not going on a picnic + making your husband wait to eat until you’ve taken pretty pictures of the food?
Scott, you’re the best.  My love for you is like your love for minute maid frozen fruit punch, endless.DSC_8287

And one last one because life is hard when you’re trying to climb on someone’s shoulders while the camera timer is breathing down your neck.

Love you my dear Scotty, here’s to like, at least 3 more years.

Birthday Weekend [C&E Collective]

DSC_5244

My Mom throws the best birthday parties! Even with her kids all grown, she always makes us feel special on our big day.  I mean do you see that cake? Yup, she made it all herself…oh and that chalkboard art? All herself. See what I mean? I know she’s my Mom but seriously, she’s the best.

Thanks to all my family for coming over to my parent’s farm to celebrate my birthday! You guys are the bomb – oh and a huge shoutout to Baba for my birthday varenyky 🙂

Bits & Pieces of My Sister’s Wedding [Queen’s Landing, Niagara-on-the-Lake][Southern Ontario Wedding Photographer][C&E Collective]

My sister is officially Mrs. Chalmers! While Jacqlyn + Ian are honeymooning in Mexico, I thought I’d share a few photos of their day. It’s okay guys you soak up the sun while we freeze here in the north 😉

Since I was her maid of honour (or matron of honour if you want to get really technical and make me sound really old), I was only able to snap a few shots throughout the day. If you know Jacqlyn, you know that she loves all things classic + timeless so I decided to shoot these photos with the idea of making an entirely black + white album.

Congratulations! Love you both.

Halloween 2015 [Southern Ontario Photographer] [Lifestyle Photographer] [C&E Collective]

All pumpkins courtesy of Miles Produce. You’re the best Lin!

Did you really even carve a pumpkin if you don’t take
a picture with it and post it online? No…you didn’t.

The fruits of our labour. Or vegetables, we’re not sure.

And finally….

Because when your dog’s name is Gus, what else are you supposed to dress him up as than Sparta’gus’.
THIS IS SPARTAGUS!

Happy Halloween Everyone!

Ontario in the Fall [The Chedoke Radial Trail] [Hamilton, ON] [Southern Ontario Photographer]

Saturdays are for adventure. Or binge watching Netflix. Our Saturdays normally consist of a little bit of both.

This Saturday snow was in the forecast, but with a bit of luck, the sun shone through the clouds in the morning and we were able to venture out to the Chedoke Radial Trail, a part of the Bruce Trail.

There’s something special about Octobers in Southwestern Ontario. For a couple of weeks, the leaves turn shades of orange, reds and yellows turning the province into a fall wonderland. The frost has yet to take the leaves from the trees and we were able to capture the sweet colours of the fall!

This part of the trail took us past Princess Falls, Mountview Falls and above the 403, making for some pretty cool views of Hamilton and the Dundas Valley.
