Laura [Beach Pictures][Film Wedding Photography][C&E Collective]

This shoot took place on a cold windy day in Southern Ontario and Laura was the biggest trooper! I was so excited to have her step in front of my camera, not only because she’s gorgeous, but GIRL CAN MODEL.  I was also so excited about this shoot at it was my first official crack at shooting almost strictly film.  That’s right folks, I’m slowly moving into the world of film photography and am thrilled to say that I will be shooting film at all of my weddings this summer! The transition into becoming a hybrid shooter is scary and exciting and a whole mess of emotions.  Don’t fret – my trusty digital camera will still be on my person whenever I’m shooting, it will just be alongside of my film one! Okay, I’m blabbering. Please enjoy my first official all film blog post!

Our House [Before + After Renovation][House Tour][C&E Collective]

This post has been a long time coming. Like, a really long time.  Today marks the 1st anniversary of officially getting the keys to our first home, so I thought what better time than the present to finally show her off! After purchasing the home, we took on a little bit of a renovation (mainly painting EVERYTHING white, taking down a wall, adding some doors where they weren’t there, taking away some doors and replacing some things in the bathroom).  We were able to complete the majority of the reno within a month of purchasing, thanks to a really a helpful brother, a contractor uncle, a Dad who doesn’t hate to paint and some family that was willing to take us in while sawdust seemed to be falling from the sky. So without further ado, I present to you our house!

That’s it, that’s all!

Okay, no, not really.  There is an office that I’ve chosen not to share because it’s a disaster 24/7 and not totally finished (pictures aren’t hung, bookshelf that I need to redo) so that will be coming another time 🙂

I hope you enjoyed our little home tour! If you have any questions or comments don’t forget to leave them in the comment section below!

5 Instagrammers to Follow for Major Bridal Hair Inspiration

Since wedding season is just around the corner and so many brides will soon be going for their hair trial appointments and deciding what style they would like to don on their wedding day, I thought this was the best continuation to our Instagrammer series! Today, I bring you five talented hair stylists that showcase their talent on Instagram.  I hope you are inspired to create something unique in your hair on your big day!

  1. @BEYONDTHEPONYTAIL
    I could scroll through this feed for days.  If you’re looking for something whimsical, bohemian and free-spirited, this is the feed for you.
    @beyondtheponytail
  2. @HAIRANDMAKEUPBYSTEPH
    The most beautiful updos speckled with everything from greenery, flowers to broaches.  There’s a little inspiration for everyone in this feed.
    @hairandmakeupbysteph
  3. @HEATHERCHAPMANHAIR
    These styles are definitely not for the faint of heart.  Some braided fauxhawks as well as brightly coloured hair dot this feed, but if that doesn’t inspire you to do something unique on your wedding day, I don’t know what will.
    @heatherchapmanhair
  4. @BRIDALHAIRCOLLECTIVE
    A group of hairstylists that split their time between Toronto and Sydney and have one of the most beautifully curated hair stylist feeds I’ve come across yet!
    @bridalhaircollective
  5. @BRAIDSBYJORDAN
    A super talented Canadian that does all of her hairstyles on herself! Yup, you read that right.  I have a hard enough time putting my hair into a ponytail….  She also has a YouTube channel where she gives you step-by-step instructions on how to recreate her looks.
    @braidsbyjordan

And there you have it! Do you follow an Instagrammer with some killer hairstyles that didn’t make the list? Share it with us by leaving the handle in the comment section below!

Kristi + Michael Engagement [Windsor Engagement][Winter Engagement Photos][C&E Collective]

When life hands you lemons, make lemonade (thanks Bey for that nugget of wisdom). When life hands you a snow storm in the middle of March, you hide out in a casino lobby and pose your life away in front of gambling seniors.  Kristi + Michael’s engagement session didn’t go exactly as planned, but hey, that’s okay!  Sometimes you just have to roll with the punches.  This actually wasn’t just an engagement session either, these two got married at the courthouse yesterday! I was honoured to be a part of your day and am so looking forward to the big celebration on New Year’s Eve this year! Fingers crossed for some mild December weather so you don’t have to freeze your butts off outside! In the meantime, enjoy these images of a snowy, winter engagement session!   DSC_1305

5 Instagrammers to follow for major wedding flower inspiration

Okay friends, it’s been a hot second since I’ve blogged.  And honestly, I have no excuse except for the usual “I’m bad at writing” and “I have nothing to write about” – the list goes on.  So I apologize. But this gorgeous weather has got me feeling inspired once again to bring you another blog post in our series of Instagrammers to follow for wedding inspiration.  For February, I’ve put together a list of accounts to follow for some serious floral inspiration.  I think it’s exactly what is needed as the nice weather starts to come out again.  So without further ado, I present my list of 5 instagrammers to follow for swoon-worthy florals and botanicals.

#1 @BLOOM_AND_CO
Yay for local! This gorgeous Instagram account is brought to you by a floral designer in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Her feed is full of romantic bouquets, tablescapes and arrangements that made this pastel lover fall head over heals.

bloom_and_co

#2 @JUSTBLOOMS
Another local flower shop, this time from Cambridge, ON.  Her Instagram description includes the words ‘whimsy’ and ‘natural inspired’ and therefore I’m all about it! Her feed is full of variation, from loose, fresh cut blooms to gorgeous floral crowns.

#3 @PLENTYOFPETALS
This instagrammer comes to you from the west coast and is full of large, rustic bouquets dotted with images of the coastline.  If anything combines beautiful florals with the ocean, count me in.

#4 @RUNNINGWILDFLORALS
If you are a fan of bright colours but still love muted pastels, this is the feed for you.  I know that is a complete oxymoron but just click the link above and you’ll see what I mean.

#5 @WILDERFLORALCO
Another feed full of dreamy, muted colour. Tons of garden roses and ranunculus fill this feed along with some of the most creative bouquets I’ve ever seen.
